Gentamicin 80 mg / 2 ml

Indication

Aminoglycoside antibiotic. Used for the treatment of serious infections caused by susceptible Gram-negative bacteria, including infections of the urinary tract, respiratory tract, skin and soft tissue, bone, and septicaemia.

Ingredients

• Gentamicin Sulfate equivalent to Gentamicin 80 mg

Direction

For intramuscular or intravenous injection. To be administered by a healthcare professional only, at the dose and frequency prescribed by a doctor. Complete the full course of treatment.

Side effects

• May cause kidney damage
• hearing loss
• ringing in the ears and balance problems (dizziness
• unsteadiness)
• especially with prolonged use or high doses. May also cause nausea and injection site reactions. For any unwanted effect

Precautions

• Keep out of reach of children. Do not use in case of known allergy to aminoglycosides. Kidney function and hearing should be monitored during treatment. Use with caution in kidney impairment
• in the elderly
• in myasthenia gravis
• and during pregnancy. Avoid combining with other medicines that harm the kidneys or hearing. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
