Esoral 40 mg

Indication

Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive reflux esophagitis, and gastric or duodenal ulcers when oral therapy is not possible. Also used for the prevention and treatment of acid-related upper gastrointestinal bleeding.

Ingredients

• Esomeprazole Sodium

Direction

For intravenous use only, administered by a healthcare professional. Reconstitute the vial with the supplied 5 mL of Sodium Chloride 0.9% injection and use immediately. Usual adult dose is 40 mg once daily by slow intravenous injection over at least 3 minutes. Use only on the prescription of a registered physician.

Side effects

• diarrhea
• abdominal pain
• flatulence
• constipation
• dry mouth
• or injection site reactions. Rarely
• allergic reactions
• dizziness or liver enzyme changes may occur. If you experience any unusual or severe symptoms

Precautions

• Do not use if you are allergic to esomeprazole
• other proton pump inhibitors
• or any component of this product. Exclude malignancy before treatment
• as symptom relief may mask gastric cancer. Use with caution in severe liver impairment and in long
• term therapy
• which may reduce vitamin B12 and magnesium levels or increase fracture risk. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant
• breastfeeding
