Indication
Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive reflux esophagitis, and gastric or duodenal ulcers when oral therapy is not possible. Also used for the prevention and treatment of acid-related upper gastrointestinal bleeding.
Ingredients
- Esomeprazole Sodium
Direction
For intravenous use only, administered by a healthcare professional. Reconstitute the vial with the supplied 5 mL of Sodium Chloride 0.9% injection and use immediately. Usual adult dose is 40 mg once daily by slow intravenous injection over at least 3 minutes. Use only on the prescription of a registered physician.
Side effects
- May cause headache
- nausea
- diarrhea
- abdominal pain
- flatulence
- constipation
- dry mouth
- or injection site reactions. Rarely
- allergic reactions
- dizziness or liver enzyme changes may occur. If you experience any unusual or severe symptoms

Precautions
- Do not use if you are allergic to esomeprazole
- other proton pump inhibitors
- or any component of this product. Exclude malignancy before treatment
- as symptom relief may mask gastric cancer. Use with caution in severe liver impairment and in long
- term therapy
- which may reduce vitamin B12 and magnesium levels or increase fracture risk. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant
- breastfeeding
- or taking other medicines. Use only on the prescription of a registered physician. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
