LeoPovidone 10% w/v (200 ml)

Indication

First-aid antiseptic solution for the treatment and prevention of susceptible microbial infections of the skin. It can be used on cuts, burns and abrasions, and kills bacteria, fungi and other common germs. LeoPovidone is virtually non-staining and non-irritating.

Ingredients

• Povidone
• iodine 10% w/v (equivalent to 1% available iodine)

Direction

For external use. After cleaning the wound, apply LeoPovidone to the affected area, or soak a gauze in the solution and cover the wound, twice a day. It is suggested that the residue be cleaned off before reapplying the antiseptic solution.

Side effects

• May cause local skin irritation or allergic reactions in some people. Repeated application over large areas can affect thyroid function because of iodine absorption. If you experience any adverse effects

Precautions

• For external use only. Do not use in the eyes or on large areas of the body. Avoid in people with known iodine hypersensitivity or thyroid disorders
• and use with caution in pregnant or breastfeeding women and in young children
• in whom systemic iodine absorption is more likely. Consult a doctor for deep or puncture wounds
• animal bites or serious burns. Keep out of reach of children. Store below 30°C. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
