RafalGAN 1 g / 100 mL

Indication

Intravenous paracetamol used for the short-term treatment of moderate pain, especially after surgery, and for the short-term treatment of fever, when intravenous administration is clinically justified — for example when oral or rectal routes are not possible. For use by a healthcare professional only.

Ingredients

• Paracetamol (BP) 1 g per 100 mL bottle

Direction

For intravenous infusion only, as directed by the physician. In adults and adolescents over 50 kg, a usual dose is 1 g (one 100 mL bottle) infused over 15 minutes, up to 4 times a day, with at least 4 hours between doses and a maximum of 4 g per day. Lower doses are used in patients under 50 kg, in children, and in kidney or liver impairment. Do not exceed the dose prescribed by the doctor.

Side effects

• Paracetamol is usually well tolerated. Possible effects include pain or a burning feeling at the infusion site

• low blood pressure and raised liver enzymes. Rare but serious allergic reactions and skin reactions can occur. Overdose can cause severe
• potentially fatal liver damage. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if you experience any unexpected reaction.

Precautions

• the solution is cloudy or contains undissolved particles or foreign matter. Avoid freezing. Do not take other paracetamol
• containing medicines at the same time
• to avoid overdose. Use with caution in liver or kidney disease
