Indication

An automatic upper-arm electronic blood pressure monitor for measuring systolic and diastolic blood pressure (mmHg) and pulse rate at home or in a clinic. Useful for people with high blood pressure and for anyone monitoring their cardiovascular health. Uses a double-filter fuzzy algorithm and includes an integrated air connector, indication for irregular heartbeats, detection for cuff wearing and indication for movement error.

Wind the cuff around the upper arm, keeping the lower edge 2-3 cm above the elbow joint with the air inlet on the inside of the arm. Sit still for 5 minutes before measuring, keep the centre of the cuff level with the heart, bare the upper arm or wear thin clothing, and use a table-to-chair height difference of about 25-30 cm. Press the switch button to start measuring and hold the position throughout. Stay relaxed; do not measure just after a meal, after exercise or when agitated. Read the user's manual closely before using the monitor.

Side effects

• The inflating cuff may cause temporary discomfort
• tingling or minor bruising of the arm
• especially with frequent measurements. Readings can be inaccurate if the cuff is the wrong size or badly positioned
• or during movement or an irregular heartbeat. Do not change any blood pressure treatment based on home readings alone
• if results are unexpected or you feel unwell
• consult a doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions

• A home monitor does not replace diagnosis or treatment by a doctor. Use the correct cuff for an arm circumference of 22
• 45 cm. Measure at the same time of day and record your readings. Take extra care and seek medical advice before use if you have an irregular heartbeat
