Indication
- Hyperthyroidism - Graves' disease - Preparation for thyroidectomy - Adjunct to radioactive iodine therapy
Ingredients
- Carbimazole
Direction
Take orally as directed by a physician. The initial high dose is usually reduced gradually to a lower maintenance dose.
Side effects
- Nausea and stomach upset
- Skin rash and itching
- Joint or muscle pain
- Headache
- Bone marrow suppression
Precautions
- Report sore throat or fever immediately
- Monitor full blood count regularly
- Use caution in liver disease
- Pregnancy requires strict medical supervision
