Indication
- Maintenance treatment of bronchial asthma - Pediatric croup (laryngotracheobronchitis) - Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
Ingredients
- Budesonide
Direction
Administer via a jet nebulizer connected to an air compressor. Rinse mouth with water after each treatment to prevent oral thrush.
Side effects
- Oral candidiasis (thrush)
- Throat irritation
- Coughing
- Hoarseness
- Respiratory tract infections
Precautions
- Not for acute asthma attacks
- Monitor for oral fungal infections
- Risk of paradoxical bronchospasm
- Caution in patients with tuberculosis
- Potential for systemic corticosteroid effects
