Indication
- Chronic gout management - Hyperuricemia prevention - Recurrent calcium oxalate stones - Chemotherapy-induced hyperuricemia
Ingredients
- Allopurinol
Direction
Take orally once daily after a meal. Maintain adequate fluid intake to ensure neutral or slightly alkaline urine.
Side effects
- Skin rash or pruritus
- Gastrointestinal distress
- Drowsiness or fatigue
- Nausea and vomiting
- Rare severe hypersensitivity syndrome
Precautions
- Discontinue immediately if rash occurs
- Monitor renal and hepatic function
- Avoid during acute gout attack
- Maintain high daily fluid intake
- Caution in patients with HLA
- B*5801 allele
