Zepam 5 5 mg

Indication

Benzodiazepine indicated for anxiety states, alcohol withdrawal, generalised anxiety and functional and somatic manifestations accompanying anxiety, and muscle contractures.

Ingredients

• Diazepam (DCI) 5 mg per tablet

Direction

Oral route. Do not exceed the prescribed dose. Adults: in current practice 5 to 20 mg per day, in 2 or 3 divided doses. In pre-anaesthesia, 10 to 40 mg. Children: 1/2 mg per kg body weight; use in children must remain exceptional. See the leaflet. Store at a temperature below 30°C.

Side effects

• Drowsiness
• dry mouth
• dizziness
• blurred vision or an allergic reaction such as rash may occur. Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist if these occur.

Precautions

• May cause drowsiness — do not drive or operate machinery after taking it
• and avoid alcohol. Do not exceed the stated dose. Keep out of reach of children. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are pregnant
• breastfeeding or giving it to a young child. Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist if symptoms persist or an allergic reaction occurs.
