Claritek 125 mg / 5 mL

Indication

For treatment of susceptible bacterial infections, including upper and lower respiratory tract infections, acute otitis media, and skin and soft-tissue infections. Use only for infections proven or strongly suspected to be bacterial.

Ingredients

• Clarithromycin 125 mg per 5 mL after reconstitution

Direction

Use only as prescribed by a physician. Fill drinking water to the line mark and shake well. Keep tightly closed after use and shake well before each dose. Use the reconstituted suspension within 14 days.

Side effects

• Common adverse effects include abdominal pain
• diarrhea
• nausea
• vomiting
• and altered taste.
• Other reported effects include indigestion
• headache
• rash
• candidiasis
• insomnia
• and abnormal liver
• function tests.

Precautions

• Prescription medicine. Do not use in patients allergic to clarithromycin
• erythromycin
• or other macrolide antibiotics.
• A physician or pharmacist must check for important medicine interactions and conditions including QT prolongation
• liver disease
• kidney impairment
• and myasthenia gravis.
• Stop treatment and seek urgent medical care for a severe allergic reaction
• signs of hepatitis
• or an abnormal heartbeat. Use only for a proven or strongly suspected bacterial infection.
