Indication
For treatment of susceptible bacterial infections, including upper and lower respiratory tract infections, acute otitis media, and skin and soft-tissue infections. Use only for infections proven or strongly suspected to be bacterial.
Ingredients
- Clarithromycin 125 mg per 5 mL after reconstitution
Direction
Use only as prescribed by a physician. Fill drinking water to the line mark and shake well. Keep tightly closed after use and shake well before each dose. Use the reconstituted suspension within 14 days.
Side effects
- Common adverse effects include abdominal pain
- diarrhea
- nausea
- vomiting
- and altered taste.
- Other reported effects include indigestion
- headache
- rash
- candidiasis
- insomnia
- and abnormal liver
- function tests.
Precautions
- Prescription medicine. Do not use in patients allergic to clarithromycin
- erythromycin
- or other macrolide antibiotics.
- A physician or pharmacist must check for important medicine interactions and conditions including QT prolongation
- liver disease
- kidney impairment
- and myasthenia gravis.
- Stop treatment and seek urgent medical care for a severe allergic reaction
- signs of hepatitis
- or an abnormal heartbeat. Use only for a proven or strongly suspected bacterial infection.
