Indication

Prescription cephalosporin antibiotic for susceptible bacterial infections selected by a physician.

Ingredients

• Cefixime trihydrate equivalent to cefixime anhydrous 200 mg per capsule

Direction

Use only on medical prescription. Take exactly the prescribed dose and complete the prescribed course; the specific regimen depends on the infection and kidney function.

Side effects

• Diarrhoea
• nausea
• abdominal pain
• or rash may occur
• seek urgent care for severe allergy
• persistent watery or bloody diarrhoea
• or serious skin reaction.

Precautions

• Do not use with known cefixime or cephalosporin allergy
• tell the prescriber about severe penicillin allergy
• kidney impairment
• anticoagulants
• pregnancy
• or breastfeeding.
• Use only for proven or strongly suspected susceptible bacterial infection to reduce antimicrobial resistance.
