TobraDex Tobramycin 3 mg/mL + Dexamethasone 1 mg/mL

Indication

Prescription treatment of steroid-responsive inflammatory eye conditions where a superficial bacterial infection or risk of infection exists.

Ingredients

• Tobramycin 3 mg/mL (0.3%)
• Dexamethasone 1 mg/mL (0.1%)

Direction

Shake well. Adolescents and adults: instill one or two drops into the conjunctival sac every 4–6 hours as prescribed; a clinician may increase frequency initially. Discard one month after opening.

Side effects

• Eye pain
• itching
• irritation
• discomfort
• blurred vision
• dry eye or redness may occur.
• Prolonged use may increase intraocular pressure
• cause glaucoma or cataract
• delay healing
• and promote secondary infection.

Precautions

• Prescription and ophthalmic use only. Do not use for viral or fungal eye infection
• ocular tuberculosis or untreated purulent infection
• and avoid with known aminoglycoside or corticosteroid allergy.
• Do not touch the dropper tip to the eye or another surface. Remove soft contact lenses before use and wait at least 15 minutes before reinsertion.
