Indication
Prescription treatment of steroid-responsive inflammatory eye conditions where a superficial bacterial infection or risk of infection exists.
Ingredients
- Tobramycin 3 mg/mL (0.3%)
- Dexamethasone 1 mg/mL (0.1%)
Direction
Shake well. Adolescents and adults: instill one or two drops into the conjunctival sac every 4–6 hours as prescribed; a clinician may increase frequency initially. Discard one month after opening.
Side effects
- Eye pain
- itching
- irritation
- discomfort
- blurred vision
- dry eye or redness may occur.
- Prolonged use may increase intraocular pressure
- cause glaucoma or cataract
- delay healing
- and promote secondary infection.
Precautions
- Prescription and ophthalmic use only. Do not use for viral or fungal eye infection
- ocular tuberculosis or untreated purulent infection
- and avoid with known aminoglycoside or corticosteroid allergy.
- Do not touch the dropper tip to the eye or another surface. Remove soft contact lenses before use and wait at least 15 minutes before reinsertion.
