Dexacol Chloramphenicol 4 mg/mL + Dexamethasone sodium phosphate 1 mg/mL

Indication

Prescription treatment of infectious or allergic conjunctivitis, keratitis, dacryocystitis and iritis, and prevention of pre- or postoperative eye infection when directed by a physician.

Ingredients

• Chloramphenicol 20 mg per 5 mL (0.4%)
• Dexamethasone sodium phosphate 5 mg per 5 mL (0.1%)

Direction

Instill one or two drops several times daily as directed by a physician. Treatment should not exceed 10 days unless specifically reviewed and prescribed.

Side effects

• Local irritation or allergic reaction may occur.
• Chloramphenicol has a rare risk of serious bone
• marrow toxicity
• stop use and seek medical advice for unusual bruising
• bleeding
• persistent sore throat or marked weakness.

Precautions

• Do not use with allergy to an ingredient
• bone
• marrow depression
• glaucoma
• ocular tuberculosis
• viral or fungal eye infection
• or in newborn infants.
• Prescription and ophthalmic use only. Avoid touching the dropper tip and do not prolong treatment without an eye examination.
