Acticarbine Activated charcoal 70 mg / Papaverine hydrochloride 14 mg

Indication

Symptomatic treatment in adults of difficult digestion, particularly intestinal bloating and gas.

Ingredients

• Activated charcoal 70 mg
• Papaverine hydrochloride 14 mg

Direction

Adults: swallow 1 to 2 coated tablets with water before each of the three meals; do not chew. Seek advice if symptoms persist or worsen.

Side effects

• High doses may darken the stools.
• Very high papaverine exposure may cause nausea
• vomiting
• weakness
• dizziness
• drowsiness or a fast heartbeat.

Precautions

• Separate other oral medicines by more than two hours where possible because charcoal may reduce their absorption.
• Avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless a clinician specifically advises use
• drowsiness may affect driving.
