Indication

Prescription treatment of susceptible protozoal and anaerobic bacterial infections as diagnosed by a physician.

Ingredients

• Metronidazole 400 mg per film
• coated tablet

Direction

Take by mouth exactly as prescribed and complete the course. Do not drink alcohol during treatment or for at least one day afterward.

Side effects

• Nausea
• stomach discomfort
• dry mouth
• bitter or metallic taste
• headache
• rash
• drowsiness
• or dark urine may occur.
• Seek medical care for numbness
• tingling
• seizures
• severe rash
• facial swelling
• or breathing difficulty.

Precautions

• Do not use with allergy to metronidazole or another nitroimidazole
• avoid alcohol and tell the prescriber about active CNS
• blood
• or liver disease.
• A physician must assess pregnancy
• breastfeeding
• and interactions such as disulfiram
• warfarin
• lithium
• phenytoin
• ciclosporin
• fluorouracil
• or busulfan.
