Indication

Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections, including selected urinary, respiratory, ear, sinus, and intestinal infections, when prescribed by a clinician.

Ingredients

• Sulfamethoxazole 400 mg
• Trimethoprim 80 mg

Direction

Take by mouth exactly as prescribed. The usual adult and adolescent dose is one tablet every 12 hours, but the dose and duration depend on the infection and kidney function.

Side effects

• Nausea

• or rash may occur. Stop and seek urgent medical advice for a severe rash
• blistering
• breathing difficulty
• or other signs of serious allergy.

Precautions

• Prescription medicine. Do not use if allergic to sulfonamides or trimethoprim. Tell the prescriber about kidney or liver disease
