Glucophage 1000 mg

Indication

Used to treat type 2 diabetes when diet and exercise alone do not adequately control blood glucose; it may be used alone or with other diabetes medicines as prescribed.

Ingredients

• Metformin hydrochloride 1000 mg
• equivalent to 780 mg metformin base

Direction

Take orally exactly as prescribed, usually with or after meals. Swallow the film-coated tablet as directed and do not change the dose without medical advice.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhea
• stomach pain
• loss of appetite
• or taste changes may occur. A rare but serious lactic acidosis reaction requires urgent medical attention
• consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.

Precautions

• Kidney function must be checked by a clinician. Tell the doctor about severe infection
• dehydration
• liver disease
• heavy alcohol use
• or planned surgery or contrast imaging
• do not stop or restart around these situations without advice.
