Indication

Short-term symptomatic treatment of severe, disabling anxiety in adults; alprazolam is also used for panic disorder in adults.

Direction

Take orally only as prescribed. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest appropriate duration under medical supervision.

Side effects

• Drowsiness

• impaired coordination
• fatigue
• and dependence or withdrawal may occur. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if irritation or allergy occurs.

Precautions

• Prescription medicine. Avoid alcohol and opioids unless specifically directed by a clinician. Do not stop suddenly because dependence and withdrawal can occur.
