Indication

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet and exercise alone are not sufficient to control blood glucose.

Ingredients

• Metformin hydrochloride 850 mg

Direction

Take with or after meals exactly as prescribed by the physician; swallow with water and do not change the dose without advice.

Side effects

• Nausea
• diarrhea
• abdominal discomfort
• or reduced appetite may occur
• especially at treatment initiation.
• Seek urgent medical attention for severe weakness
• breathing difficulty
• persistent vomiting
• or severe abdominal symptoms.

Precautions

• Kidney function must be assessed
• tell the doctor about liver disease
• dehydration
• alcohol use
• pregnancy
• and all medicines.
• Ask for medical advice before iodinated contrast imaging or surgery.
