Indication
Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo is used for the treatment and prophylaxis of dandruff and seborrhoeic dermatitis of the scalp caused by Malassezia (Pityrosporum) yeasts. It is also used for pityriasis versicolor (tinea versicolor) of the trunk.
Ingredients
- Ketoconazole 20 mg/mL (2%)
Direction
Dandruff/Seborrhoeic dermatitis treatment: Apply to the scalp, leave for 3β5 minutes, then rinse. Use twice weekly for 2β4 weeks. Maintenance: use once every 1β2 weeks. Pityriasis versicolor: Apply to the affected areas once daily for 5 days.
Side effects
- Scalp irritation
- burning sensation
- or pruritus (itching)
- Contact dermatitis
- Abnormal hair texture
- Rare: hair loss
Precautions
- Avoid contact with eyes.
- For external use only
- do not take by mouth.
- Discontinue if irritation or sensitisation occurs.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Not recommended for use in children under 12 years without medical supervision.
