Indication

Cardiac, pulmonary, hepatic, and renal oedema; peripheral oedema; and hypertension.

• Furosemide BP 40 mg per tablet

Direction

Use as directed by the physician. Tablet dosing is individualized; the official product information describes adult dosing from 20 mg daily or 40 mg on alternate days in mild cases, with higher doses in resistant cases, and pediatric dosing by weight.

Side effects

• Alkalosis and uric acid retention
• acute gout may rarely occur.
• May provoke hyperglycemia and glycosuria.

Precautions

• Do not use in patients with hypersensitivity to furosemide or sulfonamides.
• Use with caution in pregnancy and lactation
• monitor blood pressure and pulse during rapid diuresis.
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if irritation or allergy occurs.
