Getformin 1 mg / 500 mg

Indication

For improvement of glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise when glimepiride or metformin hydrochloride alone is inadequate.

Ingredients

• Glimepiride 1 mg
• Metformin hydrochloride 500 mg

Direction

Take once daily with meals, swallow the tablet whole without crushing or chewing, and follow the physician's instructions. The dose must be individualized by a physician.

Side effects

• Possible adverse effects include diarrhea
• vomiting
• metallic taste
• rash
• allergic skin reactions
• photosensitivity
• blurred vision
• and low blood sugar. Rarely
• metformin may cause lactic acidosis. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and promptly seek medical advice if severe symptoms occur.

Precautions

• Use only as prescribed. Blood glucose and kidney function should be monitored as directed. Do not use in people with known hypersensitivity to sulfonylureas or biguanides
• renal or hepatic failure
• or insulin
• dependent diabetes unless specifically directed by a physician. Keep out of reach of children.
