Amlo-Denk 5 5 mg

Indication

Amlo-Denk 5 contains Amlodipine, a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker used to treat hypertension and chronic stable or vasospastic angina pectoris.

Ingredients

• Amlodipine besylate 5 mg

Direction

Adults: 5 mg once daily orally. The dose may be increased to a maximum of 10 mg once daily if needed, based on clinical response. Elderly patients should start at 2.5 mg.

Side effects

• Very common: oedema (peripheral
• ankle).
• Common: headache
• dizziness
• somnolence
• palpitations
• flushing.
• Common: nausea
• abdominal pain
• fatigue.
• Uncommon: dyspnoea
• mood changes.
• Rare: gingival hyperplasia
• gynaecomastia.
• Very rare: severe skin reactions
• hepatitis.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in severe hypotension or cardiogenic shock.
• Contraindicated in unstable angina (except vasospastic angina) and haemodynamically unstable heart failure.
• Use with caution in hepatic impairment.
• Caution with CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g.
• ketoconazole
• cyclosporin) — may increase amlodipine levels.
• May cause peripheral oedema.
• Not for use in patients with aortic stenosis.
