Trolip 300 300 mg

Indication

Trolip 300 contains Gemfibrozil, a fibric acid derivative used to treat hypertriglyceridaemia and mixed dyslipidaemia as an adjunct to diet, and to reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.

Ingredients

• Gemfibrozil 300 mg

Direction

Adults: 600 mg twice daily orally, taken 30 minutes before the morning and evening meals.

Side effects

• Common: nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhoea
• abdominal pain
• dyspepsia.
• Common: headache
• dizziness
• fatigue.
• Uncommon: myalgia
• myopathy.
• Rare: rhabdomyolysis (stop immediately).
• Uncommon: cholelithiasis.
• Rare: severe skin reactions.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in severe hepatic or renal impairment.
• Contraindicated in gallbladder disease.
• Contraindicated with repaglinide.
• Avoid concomitant use with statins due to increased myopathy/rhabdomyolysis risk.
• May enhance anticoagulant effect of warfarin.
• Monitor liver function and creatine kinase.
