Duphaston 10 mg

Indication

Duphaston contains Dydrogesterone, a synthetic progestogen used to treat conditions related to progesterone deficiency including: threatened or habitual miscarriage, endometriosis, dysmenorrhoea, irregular menstruation, premenstrual syndrome, and as part of hormone replacement therapy.

Ingredients

• Dydrogesterone 10 mg

Direction

Adults (women): Dosage depends on indication and is prescribed by a physician. Typical doses range from 10–30 mg/day in divided doses. Take orally at the same time each day.

Side effects

• Common: headache
• migraine
• nausea
• menstrual irregularities
• breast tenderness.
• Uncommon: depression
• mood changes
• oedema
• skin reactions (rash
• pruritus
• urticaria).
• Rare: haemolytic anaemia.
• Rare: hypersensitivity reactions.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in undiagnosed vaginal bleeding.
• Contraindicated in known or suspected progestogen
• dependent neoplasms.
• Contraindicated in severe hepatic impairment.
• Caution in history of depression.
• Use under medical supervision during pregnancy.
• Consult a doctor if symptoms persist.
