Indication

NEO-K Forte Syrup is a combination cough syrup. Dihydrocodeine is an opioid antitussive; methylephedrine is a bronchodilator/nasal decongestant; chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine; and guaifenesin is an expectorant. Used for the symptomatic relief of cough associated with colds, upper respiratory infections, and bronchitis.

Ingredients

• Dihydrocodeine bitartrate 5 mg
• DL
• Methylephedrine hydrochloride 17.5 mg
• Chlorpheniramine maleate 1.5 mg
• Guaifenesin 50 mg

Direction

Adults: 5–10 mL (one or two teaspoons) three to four times daily. Children (6–12 years): 2.5–5 mL three times daily. Children under 6: consult a physician. Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Precautions

• Contains a narcotic antitussive (dihydrocodeine) — risk of dependence and abuse.
• Contraindicated in patients with respiratory depression.
• Contraindicated in patients taking MAO inhibitors.
• Use with caution in asthma
• COPD
• and patients with compromised respiratory function.
• May cause drowsiness — do not drive or operate machinery.
• Avoid alcohol.
• Not recommended in children under 6 without medical advice.
• Use with caution in elderly and debilitated patients.
• Contraindicated in patients with narrow
• angle glaucoma
• urinary retention
• and prostate hypertrophy.
