Bromhexil 8 Bromhexine (8 mg)

Indication

Bromhexil 8 is a mucolytic agent that reduces the viscosity of bronchial secretions, making them easier to cough up. It is used for respiratory conditions associated with excess mucus production such as bronchitis, asthma, and bronchiectasis.

Ingredients

• Bromhexine HCl 8 mg

Direction

Adults and children over 12 years: 1 tablet (8 mg) 3 times daily. Children 6–12 years: 4 mg (half tablet) 3 times daily. Children 2–6 years: 4 mg (half tablet) 2 times daily. Take with food.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting
• and abdominal discomfort.
• Headache.
• Dizziness.
• Sweating.
• Allergic reactions (rare).

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with peptic ulcer disease.
• Use with caution during the first trimester of pregnancy.
• Consult a physician if cough persists beyond 1 week or is accompanied by fever.
• Rare severe cutaneous adverse reactions have been reported
• discontinue if skin rash occurs.
