Bromhexil 4 Bromhexine (4 mg)

Indication

Bromhexil 4 is a mucolytic agent that reduces the viscosity of bronchial secretions, facilitating expectoration. It is used in respiratory conditions associated with thick mucus such as bronchitis and asthma.

Ingredients

• Bromhexine HCl 4 mg

Direction

Adults and children over 12 years: 8–16 mg (2–4 tablets) 3 times daily. Children 6–12 years: 4 mg (1 tablet) 3 times daily. Children 2–6 years: 4 mg (1 tablet) 2 times daily. Take with food.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting
• and abdominal discomfort.
• Headache.
• Dizziness.
• Allergic reactions (rare).

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with peptic ulcer disease.
• Use with caution during the first trimester of pregnancy.
• Consult a physician if cough persists beyond 1 week or is accompanied by fever.
• Rare severe cutaneous adverse reactions have been reported
• discontinue if skin rash occurs.
