Indication
Mucodyl combines a mucolytic agent (ambroxol) with a second-generation antihistamine (cetirizine). It is used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis with associated chest congestion and productive cough, including conditions such as allergic bronchitis with mucus hypersecretion.
Ingredients
- Ambroxol HCl 60 mg
- Cetirizine HCl 5 mg
Direction
Adults and children over 12 years: 1 tablet once or twice daily. Take with food and water. Do not exceed recommended dose.
Side effects
- Drowsiness (cetirizine).
- Dry mouth.
- Headache.
- Nausea and gastrointestinal discomfort (ambroxol).
- Fatigue.
- Allergic reactions (rare).
Precautions
- Use with caution in patients with renal impairment
- cetirizine dose may need reduction.
- May cause drowsiness
- avoid driving or operating machinery.
- Avoid alcohol.
- Use with caution in patients with peptic ulcer disease (ambroxol).
- Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice.
- Rare severe skin reactions reported with ambroxol
- discontinue if rash occurs.
