Mucodyl Ambroxol HCl 60 mg, Cetirizine HCl 5 mg

Indication

Mucodyl combines a mucolytic agent (ambroxol) with a second-generation antihistamine (cetirizine). It is used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis with associated chest congestion and productive cough, including conditions such as allergic bronchitis with mucus hypersecretion.

Ingredients

• Ambroxol HCl 60 mg
• Cetirizine HCl 5 mg

Direction

Adults and children over 12 years: 1 tablet once or twice daily. Take with food and water. Do not exceed recommended dose.

Side effects

• Drowsiness (cetirizine).
• Dry mouth.
• Headache.
• Nausea and gastrointestinal discomfort (ambroxol).
• Fatigue.
• Allergic reactions (rare).

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment
• cetirizine dose may need reduction.
• May cause drowsiness
• avoid driving or operating machinery.
• Avoid alcohol.
• Use with caution in patients with peptic ulcer disease (ambroxol).
• Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice.
• Rare severe skin reactions reported with ambroxol
• discontinue if rash occurs.
