Indication
ALLERGYL contains diphenhydramine, a first-generation antihistamine used for the relief of allergic conditions including urticaria, hay fever, allergic conjunctivitis, and pruritus. It is also used as a short-term sleep aid and for motion sickness.
Ingredients
- Diphenhydramine HCl 25 mg
Direction
Adults and children over 12 years: 25–50 mg (1–2 tablets) every 4–6 hours as needed. For sleep: 50 mg at bedtime. Maximum 300 mg per day. Children 6–12 years: 12.5–25 mg every 4–6 hours under medical supervision.
Side effects
- Drowsiness and sedation (very common).
- Dry mouth
- nose
- and throat.
- Blurred vision.
- Urinary retention.
- Constipation.
- Dizziness and incoordination.
- Paradoxical excitation in children (rare).
Precautions
- Causes significant drowsiness
- do not drive or operate machinery.
- Avoid alcohol and other CNS depressants.
- Use with caution in patients with glaucoma

- prostatic hypertrophy
- or thyroid disease.
- Not recommended for children under 6 years.
- Avoid in elderly patients (high risk of confusion and falls).
- Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
