ALLERGYL 25 mg

Indication

ALLERGYL contains diphenhydramine, a first-generation antihistamine used for the relief of allergic conditions including urticaria, hay fever, allergic conjunctivitis, and pruritus. It is also used as a short-term sleep aid and for motion sickness.

Ingredients

• Diphenhydramine HCl 25 mg

Direction

Adults and children over 12 years: 25–50 mg (1–2 tablets) every 4–6 hours as needed. For sleep: 50 mg at bedtime. Maximum 300 mg per day. Children 6–12 years: 12.5–25 mg every 4–6 hours under medical supervision.

Side effects

• Drowsiness and sedation (very common).
• Dry mouth

• Blurred vision.
• Urinary retention.
• Constipation.
• Dizziness and incoordination.
• Paradoxical excitation in children (rare).

Precautions

• Causes significant drowsiness
• do not drive or operate machinery.
• Avoid alcohol and other CNS depressants.
• Use with caution in patients with glaucoma

• prostatic hypertrophy
• or thyroid disease.
• Not recommended for children under 6 years.
• Avoid in elderly patients (high risk of confusion and falls).
• Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
