Flox-O Ofloxacin USP 200 mg

Indication

Flox-O contains ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic indicated for urinary tract infections, lower respiratory tract infections, sexually transmitted infections, and skin and soft tissue infections caused by susceptible organisms.

Ingredients

• Ofloxacin 200 mg

Direction

Adults: 200–400 mg twice daily for 5–10 days. Take with plenty of water with or without food.

Side effects

• Nausea and gastrointestinal discomfort.
• Headache and dizziness.
• Photosensitivity.
• Tendinitis (rare).
• CNS effects.
• Allergic reactions.

Precautions

• Not recommended in children under 18 years.
• Risk of tendinitis and tendon rupture.
• QT prolongation risk.
• Avoid excessive sun exposure.
• Antacids and iron reduce absorption — take at least 2 hours apart.
• Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
