Bedelix 3 g

Indication

Used for the symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhoea in adults and children, and for the relief of pain and discomfort associated with oesophageal, gastric, and intestinal disorders.

Ingredients

• Smectite dioctahedral (Diosmectite) 3 g per sachet

Direction

Adults: 3 sachets (9 g) per day, dissolved in 50 mL of water each. Can be taken between meals. Children under 1 year: 1 sachet per day; 1–2 years: 1–2 sachets per day; over 2 years: 2–3 sachets per day. Consult a doctor for exact dosing in children.

Side effects

• Constipation (usually mild and transient).
• Rare allergic reactions.

Precautions

• In case of acute diarrhoea
• ensure adequate hydration with oral rehydration salts.
• Separate administration from other medications by at least 2 hours as Bedelix may reduce their absorption.
• Use with caution in patients with chronic constipation.
• Consult a doctor if diarrhoea persists beyond 48 hours.
• Keep out of reach of children.
