Cimétidine (Creamet) 400 mg

Indication

Used for the treatment of duodenal and gastric ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and pathological hypersecretory conditions. Acts as an H2-receptor antagonist to suppress gastric acid secretion.

Ingredients

• Cimetidine 400 mg

Direction

Adults: 400 mg twice daily (morning and at night) or 800 mg once at bedtime for ulcer treatment over 4–8 weeks. For GERD: 400 mg twice daily. Adjust dose and duration per physician recommendation.

Side effects

• Headache
• dizziness.
• Diarrhoea.
• Gynecomastia (with prolonged use).
• Confusion in elderly or renally impaired patients.
• Elevated liver enzymes (rare).

Precautions

• Numerous drug interactions via hepatic CYP450 inhibition (e.g. warfarin
• theophylline
• phenytoin)
• review all concurrent medications.
• Dose reduction required in renal and hepatic impairment.
• Elderly patients may experience confusion.
• Avoid long
• term use without medical supervision.
• Not recommended in pregnancy without medical advice.
• Keep out of reach of children.
