Pediacétamol 100 mg/ml

Indication

Pediacétamol (paracetamol 100 mg/ml oral drops) is an analgesic and antipyretic for the treatment of mild to moderate pain and fever in infants and young children.

Ingredients

• Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) 100 mg/ml

Direction

Dose by weight: 10–15 mg/kg per dose every 4–6 hours as needed. Typical doses: 3–6 months: 0.5 ml; 6–12 months: 0.7–1 ml; 1–2 years: 1.2–1.5 ml; 2–3 years: 1.5–2 ml. Use the graduated dropper provided. Do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours.

Side effects

• Generally well tolerated at recommended doses.
• Rare: skin rash
• allergic reactions.
• Hepatotoxicity in overdose.

Precautions

• Do not use in children with known paracetamol hypersensitivity.
• Do not exceed the recommended dose
• overdose can cause serious liver damage.
• Avoid concurrent use with other paracetamol
• containing products.
• Use with caution in children with hepatic impairment.
• Consult a physician if fever persists beyond 3 days or pain beyond 5 days.
