PENGESIC 50mg

Indication

PENGESIC (diclofenac sodium 50 mg) is an NSAID indicated for the relief of pain and inflammation in musculoskeletal disorders, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, dental pain, postoperative pain, and dysmenorrhoea.

Ingredients

• Diclofenac sodium 50 mg

Direction

Adults: 50 mg 2–3 times daily with or after food. Maximum daily dose: 150 mg. Swallow whole with a glass of water. For dysmenorrhoea: 50–150 mg daily in divided doses.

Side effects

• Gastrointestinal discomfort
• nausea
• vomiting.
• Peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding (rare
• with prolonged use).
• Headache
• dizziness.
• Elevated liver enzymes (rare).
• Fluid retention.

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to diclofenac or other NSAIDs.
• Avoid in active peptic ulcer disease or gastrointestinal bleeding.
• Avoid in severe renal
• hepatic
• or cardiac failure.
• Do not use in the third trimester of pregnancy.
• Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.
• Avoid concurrent use with other NSAIDs or anticoagulants.
