Acrason 10g

Indication

Acrason (acyclovir 5% cream) is an antiviral topical agent indicated for the treatment of herpes simplex virus (HSV) infections of the skin, including cold sores (herpes labialis) and genital herpes.

Ingredients

• Acyclovir (Aciclovir) 5% w/w

Direction

Apply to the affected area 5 times daily (approximately every 4 hours) for 5–10 days. Begin application as early as possible at the first sign of symptoms. Use a clean finger or cotton swab for application.

Side effects

• Transient burning
• stinging
• or mild pain on application.
• Dryness or flaking of the skin.
• Contact dermatitis (rare).

Precautions

• For external use only.
• Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
• Do not apply inside the mouth or vagina.
• Immunocompromised patients should consult a physician.
• Not recommended in pregnancy unless clearly necessary.
