Axcel Paracetamol 250 250mg/5mL

Indication

Axcel Paracetamol 250 (paracetamol 250 mg/5 ml oral suspension) is an analgesic and antipyretic for the reduction of fever and relief of mild to moderate pain in children.

Ingredients

• Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) 250 mg per 5 ml

Direction

Dose by weight (10–15 mg/kg per dose) every 4–6 hours as needed. Typical doses by age: 1–2 years (~1.25–2.5 ml); 2–4 years (~2.5–5 ml); 4–8 years (~5–7.5 ml); 8–12 years (~7.5–10 ml). Do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours. Shake well before use.

Side effects

• Generally well tolerated at recommended doses.
• Rare: skin rash
• allergic reactions.
• Hepatotoxicity in overdose.

Precautions

• Do not exceed the recommended dose
• overdose causes liver damage.
• Avoid concurrent use with other paracetamol
• containing medicines.
• Use with caution in children with hepatic impairment.
• Consult a physician if fever persists beyond 3 days.
