SALBUTIS 100 Salbutamol 100 mg

Indication

SALBUTIS 100 is a bronchodilator indicated for relief of bronchospasm in conditions including bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, and other reversible obstructive airway diseases. It is also used to prevent exercise-induced bronchospasm.

Ingredients

• Salbutamol 100 mcg per actuation (metered
• dose inhaler)

Direction

Adults and children 4 years and over: 1–2 inhalations (100–200 mcg) when needed for relief of bronchospasm; maximum 8 inhalations (800 mcg) in 24 hours. For prevention of exercise-induced bronchospasm: 2 inhalations 15–30 minutes before exercise. Shake inhaler before use.

Side effects

• Tremor (most common
• especially hands).
• Palpitations and tachycardia.
• Headache.
• Hypokalaemia with high doses.
• Paradoxical bronchospasm (rare).

Precautions

• Do not use in patients with hypersensitivity to salbutamol or any excipients.
• Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease
• hypertension
• hyperthyroidism
• or diabetes mellitus.
• Excessive use may mask worsening asthma
• seek medical attention if control deteriorates.
• May cause paradoxical bronchospasm
• discontinue immediately if this occurs.
• Use with caution during pregnancy.
• Keep out of reach of children.
