Oral Aid Lignocaine 2.5% w/v / chlorhexidine hydrochloride 0.5% w/v / triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% w/v

Indication

Used to treat mouth infections or oral lesions. The carton also describes relief of pain and inflammation associated with transient mouth ulcers, sore gums, and toothache.

Ingredients

• Lignocaine (lidocaine) 2.5% w/v
• Chlorhexidine hydrochloride 0.5% w/v
• Triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% w/v

Direction

Apply to the affected area up to every one to two hours as required, and use as directed by a doctor or pharmacist.

Side effects

• Allergic reactions such as rash
• redness
• itching
• or hives
• swelling under the skin
• burning
• stinging
• swelling
• or tenderness
• temporary taste disturbance
• or tongue burning on initial use may occur. Stop and seek immediate medical assistance for breathing difficulty
• light
• headedness
• or rapid heartbeat.

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to lignocaine
• chlorhexidine hydrochloride
• triamcinolone acetonide
• or another ingredient. Use cautiously with a local infection
• severe oral injury
• or herpes simplex at the treatment site. Tell a clinician about other medicines and allergies
• do not use for another complaint unless directed. Large or repeated amounts
• or swallowing
• may increase lignocaine absorption and drug interactions. Use caution when driving until you know how the medicine affects you.
