Zyrtec Cetirizine dihydrochloride 1 mg/mL

Indication

Relief of nasal and eye symptoms of seasonal or year-round allergic rhinitis and symptoms of chronic idiopathic urticaria, as described in the official product information for this 1 mg/mL banana-flavoured cetirizine oral solution.

Ingredients

• Cetirizine dihydrochloride 1 mg per 1 mL

Direction

For oral use; the solution may be swallowed directly. Product information for cetirizine 1 mg/mL gives adults and adolescents over 12 years 10 mL once daily; children 6–12 years 5 mL twice daily; and children 2–6 years 2.5 mL twice daily. Dose intervals may need individual adjustment in renal impairment. Follow the local package leaflet or a clinician's instructions.

Side effects

Precautions

• Do not use in case of allergy to cetirizine
• hydroxyzine
• piperazine derivatives
• or an ingredient in the product. Consult a clinician before use with kidney disease
• epilepsy or seizure risk
• or a tendency to urinary retention
• dose adjustment or avoidance may be needed.
• Use caution with alcohol or other medicines that can reduce alertness. Do not exceed the recommended dose. The solution contains sorbitol
• people with hereditary fructose intolerance should not use it. The preservatives may cause allergic reactions.
