Bioplacenton Placenta extract 10% / neomycin sulfate 0.5% per gram

Indication

For clinician-directed treatment of burns, infected wounds, scalds, and skin ulcers.

Ingredients

• Placenta extract 10% per gram
• Neomycin sulfate 0.5% per gram

Direction

Prescription medicine. Apply a sufficient amount of jelly to the wound surface 3 to 5 times daily as needed, following the prescriber's directions.

Side effects

• Neomycin may cause hypersensitivity reactions. Nephrotoxicity or ototoxicity has been reported after use on extensive burns
• particularly in people with kidney impairment or with other kidney
• or ear
• toxic medicines.

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to neomycin
• placenta extract
• or any ingredient. Stop use if sensitization or an allergic reaction occurs.
• Do not apply to the eyes or skin around the eyes. Prolonged neomycin use may lead to a secondary infection.
• Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only when clearly needed and under medical advice. Ask a clinician before combining with other aminoglycosides or neuromuscular blockers
• especially when using on extensive burns
• broken skin
• or large areas for prolonged periods.
