Centacid Suspension 170mL

Indication

Centacid Suspension is an antacid and anti-flatulent used for the symptomatic relief of heartburn, acid indigestion, sour stomach, and bloating (flatulence) associated with gastric hyperacidity and peptic disorders.

Ingredients

• Aluminium Hydroxide 200 mg per 5 mL
• Magnesium Hydroxide 200 mg per 5 mL
• Simethicone 25 mg per 5 mL

Direction

Adults: 10–20 mL (2–4 teaspoons) three to four times daily, 30–60 minutes after meals and at bedtime, or as directed by a physician. Children (over 12 years): half the adult dose or as directed. Shake well before use.

Side effects

• Constipation (with aluminium).
• Diarrhea (with magnesium).
• Nausea (uncommon).
• Electrolyte disturbances with prolonged use or renal impairment.

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment as magnesium and aluminium may accumulate.
• Do not use in patients with kidney disease without medical advice.
• Antacids may interfere with absorption of other medications — maintain a 2
• hour gap.
• High doses may cause constipation (aluminium) or diarrhea (magnesium).
• Keep out of reach of children.
