Zenlee Plus 400mg

Indication

Zenlee Plus (albendazole 400 mg) is used for the treatment and prevention of intestinal worm infestations including ascariasis, enterobiasis (pinworm), hookworm, trichuriasis, and strongyloidiasis, and for treatment of systemic helminthic infections such as neurocysticercosis and hydatid disease.

• Albendazole 400 mg

Direction

Adults and children over 2 years: for intestinal worms, 400 mg as a single dose (may be repeated after 2 weeks for pinworm). For hydatid disease and neurocysticercosis: 400 mg twice daily with food for 28 days (repeat cycles as directed by physician). Take with a fatty meal to improve absorption.

Side effects

• Abdominal pain
• nausea
• and vomiting (common with systemic use).
• Headache and dizziness.
• Elevated liver enzymes (uncommon).
• Alopecia (hair loss) with prolonged use.
• Bone marrow suppression (rare).

Precautions

• Do not use in patients with hypersensitivity to albendazole or benzimidazole compounds.
• Not recommended for use in pregnant women or women likely to become pregnant during treatment.
• Monitor liver function and blood counts with prolonged treatment.
• Use with caution in patients with liver disease.
• Keep out of reach of children.
