Augmentin 250 mg / 31.25 mg

Indication

For short-term treatment of susceptible bacterial infections at upper or lower respiratory, genitourinary, skin and soft-tissue, bone and joint, and other sites, in accordance with local antibiotic guidance and susceptibility data.

Ingredients

• Amoxicillin trihydrate equivalent to amoxicillin 250 mg and potassium clavulanate equivalent to clavulanic acid 31.25 mg per sachet.

Direction

For oral use. Check that the sachet is intact. Stir the contents of one sachet into water before taking; administer at the start of a meal and follow the clinician's directions.

Side effects

• Common adverse effects include diarrhea
• nausea
• and vomiting. Seek medical advice for severe or persistent symptoms or an allergic reaction.

Precautions

• Do not use if there is a history of serious allergy to penicillins
• cephalosporins
• or other beta
• lactam antibiotics. This sachet contains aspartame
• a source of phenylalanine
• use with caution in phenylketonuria. Use only as prescribed.
