Quemox 500mg

Indication

Quemox is a penicillin-type antibiotic used for treatment of bacterial infections including respiratory tract infections (pneumonia, bronchitis, tonsillitis), urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and ear infections.

Ingredients

• Amoxicillin 500 mg (capsule or tablet)

Direction

Adults: 250–500 mg three times daily (every 8 hours) for 5–10 days, or as prescribed. For severe infections: up to 1 g three times daily. Take with or without food. Complete the full course.

Side effects

• Diarrhea
• nausea
• vomiting (common).
• Skin rash.
• Allergic reactions including urticaria or anaphylaxis (rare).
• Clostridioides difficile
• associated diarrhea (rare).

Precautions

• Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to penicillin antibiotics.
• Use with caution in patients with cephalosporin allergy.
• Inform physician of history of allergic reactions.
• Prolonged use may cause superinfection.
• Keep out of reach of children.
