Indication

For infections caused by susceptible bacteria. Azithromycin should be used only when an infection is proven or strongly suspected to be caused by susceptible bacteria, and as prescribed by a clinician.

Ingredients

• Azithromycin dihydrate equivalent to azithromycin 500 mg

Side effects

• Common adverse reactions include diarrhea
• nausea
• abdominal pain and vomiting.

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to azithromycin or other macrolide or ketolide antibiotics
• or if you previously developed cholestatic jaundice or liver dysfunction with azithromycin. Serious allergic and skin reactions
• liver injury
• QT prolongation or serious heart rhythm problems
• and Clostridioides difficile
• associated diarrhea have been reported. Seek medical advice if severe or persistent symptoms occur.
