Bioflor 250 mg per sachet

Indication

Treatment of acute infectious diarrhea in adults and children; prevention and treatment of antibiotic-associated colitis and diarrhea; adjunct to vancomycin or metronidazole to help prevent recurrence of Clostridioides difficile disease; prevention of tube-feeding-associated diarrhea; and treatment of irritable bowel syndrome.

Ingredients

• Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM I
• 745 250 mg (lyophilized yeast cells)

Direction

Take by mouth, 1–2 sachets once or twice daily as directed on the package or by a healthcare professional. Mix the powder with water or food; do not mix with very hot or cold liquids or food, or alcoholic drinks. Ask a doctor or pharmacist if symptoms persist or worsen after 2 days.

Side effects

• Rare: flatulence. Very rare: allergic reactions such as itching
• hives
• or rash
• anaphylaxis or shock
• facial angioedema
• and fungemia. Frequency not known: constipation and sepsis.

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to Saccharomyces boulardii or any ingredient
• with a central venous catheter
• or in immunocompromised or hospitalized patients. Do not open sachets near patients with a central venous catheter or critically ill or immunocompromised patients. Do not take at the same time as an oral antifungal. Avoid mixing with very hot
• very cold
• or alcoholic drinks or food. Generally avoid during pregnancy
• seek medical advice if pregnant or breastfeeding. Seek medical advice promptly for fever
• vomiting
• blood or mucus in stool
• signs of dehydration
• or no improvement after 2 days.
